Amanda grew up in Forteau, NL. Upon completion of high school, she went on to St. John's to obtain a Business Administration degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland. She has been an Employment Counsellor with Employment Assistance Services since May 2006. Since securing employment with EAS, Amanda has completed several training courses in the employment counselling field and has attended national career development conferences. Amanda is an active volunteer in her community. She is on the Board of Directors of the Labrador Straits Development Corporation, the local economic development board. She is also a Director on the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Career Practitioners, a group that encourages and fosters career development and decision making practices in Newfoundland and Labrador. Amanda has a genuine interest in helping her clients achieve their goals.

Zita Pike
Assistant Employment Counsellor
Zita grew up in West St. Modeste, NL and is a former graduate of Our Lady of Labrador School. Upon completion of High School she attended Sir Wilfred Grenfell College in Corner Brook and completed two years of Primary Education. Zita later enrolled in a two year Applied Arts Program in Business Computer Programming at Fisher Institute of Applied Arts and Technology Program. She has worked in various capacities including Office Manager and as a Tax Associate for 15 years. In March 2006, she was hired as a client service representative at the Service Canada Community Office and as an assistant to the employment counselor at the Employment Assistance Services Office. In 2008, she became self-employed and established an income tax preparation business that she operates as a sole proprietor. Over the years she has served her community and area in various volunteer roles. She is currently treasurer of the Labrador Straits Museum & Craft Store, past treasurer of Our Lady of Labrador Parish and served as president of O.L.O.L. Youth Group for 15 years. Zita is a strong believer that success is a personal standard, reaching for the highest that is in us, becoming all that we can be.
